To use this software to measure vehicle speeds simply identify and measure out any clearly identifiable start and finish points (reference points) for your timing.
- If necessary mark these points with roadside cones or similar.
- Make sure that you can accurately see when vehicles pass the reference points from your observation position.
- Try to make the distance as great as possible to minimise errors and maintain accuracy.
- Beware of errors caused by parallax effects, such as when using shadows as a reference point.
This software is for indicative purposes only, and the accuracy of the results is not warranted. The accuracy of the recorded results is largely dependent on the skill of the operator; readings should therefore only be interpreted as a guide to the actual speed of any vehicle.
